The Written Word Dyslexia Therapy Training (TWW-DTT) instructors offer teachers, parents, and administrators an opportunity to train in multisensory teaching, discovery, and mastery techniques to support students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences.
Trainees will learn to implement an Orton-Gillingham based multisensory language therapy program called Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia. The Take Flight curriculum is written by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas. Take Flight training is currently offered at independent training centers in the states of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin. Children in public and private school settings all over the United States are benefitting from instruction in Take Flight.

Tara has been teaching students in both public and private settings for over 30 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction-Reading, and an American Montessori Society Elementary I Credential.
Tara is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), and a Licensed Dyslexia Therapist (LDT) in Texas. Tara earned her Qualified Instructor (QI) professional credential at McKinney Christian Academy’s Multisensory Teacher Training Center in Texas.
